The pillows (set of2) are easily fluffed and adjusted to personal desire. The outer cover is cool to the touch. I do not feel "cooler" with the pillow, but it does not get hot like some. For cooling though, I found it better to buy a firmer, thinner pillow which keeps my head from sinking into it, allowing heat to dissipate.
