A disappointing "Dark Droids" tie-in.

A tie-in miniseries-of-sorts to the main โDark Droidsโ event, โStar Wars: Dark Droids: D-Squadโ is, unfortunately, all too characteristic of typical comic book event โaddendumsโ: lots of flash, little substance. To be fair, writer Marc Guggenheim does what he can to flesh out the core story, which involves a squad of droids, all of whom are pulled from the various ongoing โStar Warsโ titles โ forming the titular โD-Squadโ โ to take on the Scourge threat from the main โDark Droidsโ event. The problem is that too much of the series feels like itโs spinning in circles โ thereโs a frustrating lack of narrative momentum here, and the result is a story that, frustratingly, revs to life only in spurts.
Not a terrible comic, but considering the overall quality of the โDark Droidsโ event as a whole, a disappointing one.
